S-View (GUI Application)

MENU

Menu has 6 submenus: "File", "Tools", "Bookmarks", "Drawing", "Settings" and "Help"

"File"

  • "Open" - opens dxf or dwf file.
  • "Convert the file" - convert open file to Palm compatible pdb format.
  • "Convert list of files" - convert list of selected files. Use combination "Ctrl - Left mouse button click" or "Shift - Left mouse button click" to select several files from the dialog box.
  • "Print...", "Print preview", "Print Setup..." - support printing functionality.
  • "Close" - closes opened file.
  • "Exit" - exits application.

"Tools"

  • "Pan" - mouse tool to move view. Press left mouse button and drag the image by moving mouse.
  • "Zoom window" - mouse tool to zoom into selected area. Press left mouse button and select the area you wont to zoom in by dragging the mouse.
  • "Zoom Dynamic" - mouse tool to zoom in or zoom out. Press left mouse button and drag the mouse up or down to zoom in or zoom out.
  • "Zoom All" - set zoom value to fit the whole drawing to the window.
  • "Zoom in" - zoom in current view in 2 times.
  • "Zoom out" - zoom out current view in 2 times.
  • "Zoom Previous" - move backward in zoom history.
  • "Zoom Next" - move forward in zoom history.

"Bookmarks"

  • "Bookmarks..." - opens bookmarks dialog. This dialog allows to go to selected bookmark or delete bookmark(s).
  • "Set bookmark..." - sets new bookmark.
  • "Go to the next bookmark" - cycle through the bookmark list in forward direction.
  • "Go to the previous bookmark" - cycle through the bookmark list in backward direction.

"Drawings"

  • "Pages..." - opens pages dialog. This dialog allows to go to selected page.
  • "Layers..." - opens Layers dialog. This dialog allows to control layers visibility.
  • "Show"- controls enabling / disabling for text, line style and line weight display. NOTE: these are temporary quick visibility settings, i.e. reloading file or page will reset them. Persistent display settings change can be done in "Display Settings" dialog ("Settings"->"Display...").

"Settings"

  • "Conversion..." - opens conversion dialog.
    The dialog contains conversion settings for "Current file", conversion settings for "Batch conversion" and conversion "Destination folder". "Current file" settings used when command "Convert this file" is invoked from the "File" menu, i.e. conversion is performed for already opened file. "Batch conversion" settings are used when the command "Convert list of files" is invoked or when command line conversion utility sviewcmd.exe is used. More about conversion read in "Conversion to Palm compatible pdb format".
  • "Display..." - opens "Display Settings" dialog. This dialog controls enabling / disabling for text, line style and line weight display. You can also turn On and Off monochrome mode and select background color.
  • "Toolbar" - controls toolbar visibility.
  • "Status Bar" - controls status bar visibility.

"Help"

  • "S-View Manual" - shows this manual.
  • "About..." - shows "About" dialog. In demo mode this dialog contains button "License..." to open "License" dialog.

TOOLBAR

S-View Toolbar

Buttons from left to right:

  • "Open"- opens dxf or dwf file.
  • "Close" - closes opened file.
  • "Zoom Previous" - move backward in zoom history.
  • "Zoom Next" - move forward in zoom history.
  • "Page Previous" - load previous page.
  • "Pages..." - opens pages dialog. This dialog allows to go to selected page.
  • "Page Next" - load next page.
  • "Go to the previous bookmark" - cycle through the bookmark list in backward direction.
  • "Set bookmark..." - sets new bookmark.
  • "Go to the next bookmark" - cycle through the bookmark list in forward direction.
  • "Print" - print current view.
  • "Pan" - mouse tool to move view. Press left mouse button and drag the image by moving mouse.
  • "Zoom window" - mouse tool to zoom into selected area. Press left mouse button and select the area you wont to zoom in by dragging the mouse.
  • "Zoom Dynamic" - mouse tool to zoom in or zoom out. Press left mouse button and drag the mouse up or down to zoom in or zoom out.
  • "Zoom All" - set zoom value to fit the whole drawing to the window.

MOUSE AND KEYBOARD

Left Mouse Button action depends on the selected tool, i.e. "Pan", "Zoom Window" and "Zoom Dynamic".

  • "Pan" - mouse tool to move view. Press left mouse button and drag the image by moving mouse.
  • "Zoom window" - mouse tool to zoom into selected area. Press left mouse button and select the area you wont to zoom in by dragging the mouse.
  • "Zoom Dynamic" - mouse tool to zoom in or zoom out. Press left mouse button and drag.

Mouse Wheel works like "Zoom Dynamic" when it is rolled up and down. It works like "Pan" tool if it is pressed and mouse moves.

Mouse right button click shows pop up menu with quick access to some often used commands like for example left mouse button tools, bookmarks, etc.

Keyboard arrows key can be used to move drawing. "+" and "-" keys do "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out". "Z" and "X" keys also work as "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out", for convenience of usage on laptop.
